Converse EDC Unveils Revised Grant Program

The Converse EDC streamlines grant opportunities for the Converse business community.

WHAT: The Converse Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Board is proud to announce a newly adopted Grant Program to benefit existing businesses located in the city limits of Converse. The newly adopted program includes: Façade and Signage Improvement Program (FSIP), and a Capital Investment Program (CIP). The FSIP Program offers a grant of up to $10,000 for the funding of well-designed improvements, including City-approved signage. The CIP Program offers a grant of up to $2,000 for equipment purchases that will increase sales and create jobs.

Applicants may request and receive funding under both programs however, no one applicant shall receive a combined allocation of more than $10,000 per fiscal year.

WHY: EDC Grant Committee Chair, Daniel Castellanos said, “The committee and staff worked so hard on the revision of the grant program. We are excited that this revision will make funds easier to access and to help the businesses in Converse.”

“This grant program has been completely redesigned to provide the most benefit to the existing businesses in our community,” said Kate Silvas, Executive Director of the Converse EDC. “We are so proud that the program will be so much easier to navigate.”
